Organic mornings and Artsy Afternoons!

Gardenheads adheres to the AISD calendar and has a special camp session planned for each break in the school schedule. All special session gardening camps will use these schedule guidelines.

MORNINGS We begin our day with yoga featuring "My Daddy is a Pretzel." Once campers are warmed up and ready to dig in, we'll begin our organic gardening activities. Gardening activities are set by the garden, the weather, and the season. Campers plant, harvest, water, fertilize, compost, mulch or propagate to meet the garden's needs.

LUNCH We will cook part of our lunch or a dessert over the outdoor firepit. Campers will also bring their own lunch. After lunch, there will be outdoor play time with Grace, the Pink Poodle.

AFTERNOONS Art classes with Ms Camille (daughter of Ms Candis with degree in Fine Art from the School of Visual Arts, New York). Art classes will be held in the Camp House and all supplies will be provided. Some of the topics covered will be: Fundamentals of drawing, Elements and Principals of Art, Pencil, Charcoal, Pastels, Tempera, Line, Space, Shape, Texture, Color, Rhythm, Balance and Proportion.
